Privacy & Cookies

This explains what After Thought (“we”, “us”) collects when you use after-thought.ai — the public site, our research pages, the investor portal and the careers board — why, and the choices you have. Questions or requests: [email protected].
What we collect
- Investor portal. The work email you sign in with (and its company domain), when you sign in, and which portal items you open. If you allow analytics (see Cookies below), also how long you spend on an item and how far you scroll, so we know which material is useful to the people we share it with.
- Job applications. What you put in the application form — name, contact details, location, links, answers, and any files you attach such as a CV. If you allow analytics, we also count anonymous careers-board visits (board viewed, posting viewed, application started/submitted, referring website).
- Email to us. If you write to us, we keep the message and your address to reply.
- Technical data. Like every website, our hosting and network providers process your IP address and browser details to deliver pages, keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
We do not run advertising trackers, sell or “share” personal information for targeted advertising, record your screen or keystrokes (no session replay), or load fonts from third-party font services — fonts are served from our own domain.
Why we use it
- To give investors and partners access to the material we have shared with them (our legitimate interest in running the portal, or steps you asked for).
- To consider your job application and contact you about it (steps you asked us to take before a possible employment relationship).
- To understand how our pages are read — only with your consent where the law requires it.
- To keep the site secure and working, and to meet legal obligations.
Cookies and similar storage
We keep this short on purpose. Necessary and preference items are always on; analytics only runs if allowed.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
hub_session | Keeps you signed in to the investor portal | Necessary (cookie) | 30 days |
at_session | Keeps After Thought staff signed in | Necessary (cookie) | 30 days |
at-consent | Remembers your cookie choice | Necessary (cookie) | 6 months |
at-site-theme | Remembers the light/dark theme you picked | Preference (cookie) | 1 year |
at_hub_sid, at.jobs.sid | Random per-tab id that groups one visit’s analytics events (investor portal, careers board) | Analytics (session storage) | Until the tab closes |
Your choice. Visitors in the EU/EEA, UK and Switzerland — or wherever we can’t tell — get analytics only after clicking Accept. Elsewhere it is on until you click Decline. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as Decline. You can change your mind at any time: .
Who processes it for us
We use a small number of service providers, only to run the services above:
- Railway — application hosting and database
- Cloudflare — domain, network delivery and security
- Notion — where job applications and attached files are stored
- Resend — sending sign-in codes and other email
- Google — sign-in for After Thought staff only
These providers may process data in the United States. We do not sell personal information.
How long we keep it
Only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for — for example, while your portal access is active or while we are hiring for the role you applied to — and then we delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it. You can ask us to delete your data sooner.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, UK GDPR and California law), you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email [email protected]; we will not treat you differently for exercising these rights. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children
This site is for professionals, investors and job applicants. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date above.
